Shadow Club live at the Venue

Every Sunday night at The Venue Melrose Arch, Real Concerts brings you an acoustic music series that showcases the work of some of South Africa’s top artists. The ‘Unplugged’ series brings you a listening experience that exposes the raw talent of your favourite local acts.

With the already breathtaking performances of Prime Circle, Ard Matthews, Arno Carstens, Jesse Clegg and Dan Patlansky having taken place, acts including Shadowclub, Johnny Clegg, Lira and Isochronus are still to follow in the series.

Shadowclub: That Shadowclub planned to record their debut album in just 12 days, but completed it in nine, says much about the Johannesburg- based trio’s attitude to music. Their rootsy, bluesy rock is purposely fuss free. The dozen songs on their debut, ‘Guns & Money’, were recorded live with no backing track. Modern recording techniques may have been used, but they certainly weren’t relied on. Like the classic rock acts that inspire them, Shadowclub are about powerful songs performed with a passion that explodes from the speakers and, live, can be felt at full force by their fans.

Join Shadowclub for a rare intimate evening at The Venue Melrose Arch on the 21 st of October 2012.

Tickets cost R120 and are available from Computicket, all inclusive of service charges.

Doors open at 5:30pm, and show starts at 7pm.
